Civil War Infantry Weekend

October 11 (10am-5pm) and October 12 (2pm-5pm)

 

The staff of the Museum of the Waxhaws is proud to present Civil War soldiers and civilians from the 35th Regiment, North Carolina Troops, Company F.  The original Company F was drawn primarily from the residents of Union County.  The members of this reactivated unit will be available for 2 days providing demonstrations and answering questions.  The soldiers and civilians will be camped throughout the weekend and displaying the activities typical of camp life and military drilling during the Civil War.  Come enjoy the sights and sounds of the Civil War.   

 

 

About the

Museum of the Waxhaws

 

Located in Waxhaw, North Carolina and memorial to Andrew Jackson, the museum's permanent exhibits are focused on the rich history of the Waxhaws region.

Beginning with its Native American roots, the exhibits trace the history of the region to the turn of the twentieth century. Particular attention is given to Scots-Irish immigration and the rural life of these early settlers in the Waxhaws.

In addition there are exhibits interpreting the American Revolution in the region, as well as, exhibits on agriculture and important crops and the Civil War. The turn of the century exhibit gives a unique look at the town of Waxhaw as it existed around 1900.
